For the second year in a row, our Board of Directors voted 100 percent to sponsor this international tournament, which sees players from more than 40 countries across the world. In 2009 The Emerald Coast Association of REALTOR's established an International Council which has now become the largest committee within the Association. Realtors along the Emerald Coast are realizing the importance of taking their business to a Global level! Sponsoring this Tournament, which happens to be the “Sister Tournament” to Sweden’s Rolls Royce Women’s Cup, is just one way The Emerald Coast Association of REALTOR's can give back to the local community, while enhancing International awareness of the Emerald Coast and fostering relationships with the Swedish people!

Recently, communications were initiated between the The Emerald Coast Association of REALTOR's International Council and a Swedish Real Estate Marketing Firm interested in doing business along the Emerald Coast. The Swedish company has begun looking for new global areas to expand their referral business, and we are confident that The Emerald Coast Association of REALTOR's and Northwest Florida will be the perfect fit! The Emerald Coast Association of REALTOR's sponsorship of the $25,000 Women’s Challenger Tennis Tournament helped to bring about this connection!

In light of the recent “ Sister City” Proclamation between Fort Walton Beach and Kristinehamn, Sweden, we at ECAR hope to have several of our International Council Realtors take part in the June, 2010, Summer in Sweden Tour created by Tammi Brandt of AAA Travel. We see this as a great opportunity to further business and recreational exchanges between residents of the two cities and are very excited about the trip!

We're hoping that everyone in the community will come out and enjoy the tennis tournament this coming week! It will be World Class Tennis right here in our very own back yards!
