USTA JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS is a grassroots, community-level tennis program that is
offered to boys and girls ages 10 to 18 that have the skill level to play all-court
tennis. The philosophy of the program is fun, fitness, and friends in
an environment that stresses sportsmanship and socialization in a team tennis
atmosphere.
At Fort Walton Beach Tennis Center and Shalimar Pointe
Tennis Club, leagues will be organized by Director of Tennis Erik Stenberg, as
well as parents and volunteers. USTA Junior Team Tennis is a great
recreational program where players of all skill levels can play with, or
against, their friends in a low-key competitive environment.
USTA Junior Team Tennis
runs 6 weeks starting on Tuesday, June 8th, and culminates with a Players’
Party and Awards Ceremony on Friday, July 23rd.
Each team will have 3-4
boys and 3-4 girls and will compete against other teams as well as each
other. We encourage players to
register with members of their school teams when possible. We will play two head-to-head matches against
the USTA JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS Program at Roger Scott Tennis Center in Pensacola;
one away game and one home game. We encourage all players and/or full teams to
participate in the Florida-wide play-off tournament in Daytona, Florida, August
6th–8th, details to follow.
